Visual Impairment and Sleep (self.Blind)
submitted by TheBlindBookLover
Hi. I was wondering if anyone who has residual vision experiences sleep disturbances that are related to their vision loss? I know that Non Twenty-Four is a issue faced by individuals who have total blindness, but has anyone with any remaining vision faced similar problems?

Sleep disturbances can be caused by stress and other factors such as low blood sugar levels.
A common one is the cortisol (hormone) surge at 3am to 4am that wakes people with a jolt. If you are experiencing this I’d speak to your doctor about stress and anxiety levels.
I sleep very well but I’m usually pretty exhausted anyway

It's possible to have an internal clock that's too long or short, or just not having a set schedule that expends all your energy can leave you wide awake, if that's what you mean.
