Looking for accessible D&D 5th Edition apps (self.Blind)
submitted by CynicalDropper
I'm getting into D&D, but want to use apps for character management and referring to books, as well as rolling dice. I've tried some excel sheets that are supposed to help you create a character and fill in the stuff you usually look up in the book automatically, but NVDA and Excel don't seem to play nice together with them based on the demo I used recently. So I'm looking for either Windows or android solutions that will help me easily generate and keep track of my character during a game as anyone else would with their character sheet.
I've got the dice managed with a web page on Android and GMA Dice on Windows, and the books I can deal with either way.
Having said that, I do have an iOS device I can use as well, so if that ends up being the best way I can, but I'd prefer not to.
Failing any of that, any blind players are welcome to describe how they keep track of their characters. Particularly in terms of spell slots, health and other things that change during a game or may only be referred to occasionally.

Here's one I can help with.
This is for IOS. From what I can tell, the character sheet is not all the way there with voiceover, but all the reference stuff is spot on.

I use fight club for 5th edition on ios. I'm not sure if it's available for android. If it is, you can have 1 character for free. It's not perfect, but it works reasonably well for me.

Good luck! I've been searching for some of that stuff myself. So far, I haven't found an app that works well.

Thanks. I found a fairly good resource for Android called $1 which mostly just needs labels fixed and a few other improvements that shouldn't be too major to be great. I purchased it last night because some of the ads make Talkback lag insanely, but the price was good and the features will be handy. As it is I was able to create a fairly basic High Elf Wizard, roll my stats and add all the improvements the DM gave us to start.
I'm going to try the D&D Beyond character sheet today as well, as that may be accessible. That would be the best option, as blind people's characters can keep up in online campaigns with no fuss.
