Trump ordered illegal removal of Braille from trump towers. Nothing that man does shocks me anymore. We all have one vote this November and should use it!!! Many states have accessible voting machines and every state allows for an absentee ballot to be mailed in. Don’t let your voice be unheard.(newsweek.com)

No blind person with taste would live there to be fair

After seeing photos of his apartment, I am pretty sure the decorator was profoundly blind.

Regardless of our personal political views, VOTE!
I recently voted in the primary with the accessible voting machine for the first time, and it was great!

Yes, I didn’t intend to push my own political agenda. I was just so disappointed when I saw the article. I wholeheartedly agreed that everyone should use their right to vote.
Glad to hear you had a great experience using the accessible voting machines. All the machines in my precinct are accessible which I love!

If you’re unsure how to vote or research who’s on your ballot shout out (or pm) your zip code and I’ll send you info.
Too many Americans don’t exercise their right to vote. I urge each and everyone of you that reads this to cast your vote. Every one counts.

i'm pretty sure it's a residential building. Was actually walking past it the other day on the way from an appointment. the block it's on is due to security barricades an accessibility nightmare now interestingly enough. I'd love to go "self investigate" and think I'll try and sort out a way to do just that

I dislike op-eds in which it's she said versus crickets. Probably more than the he said/she said version. While I wouldn't put it past him, trust but verify. We can do the former, not the latter. That bothers me.

While I find Newsweek to be a reliable source, you make a fair point. Regardless we all have a vote, and should use it every chance we get.

The medium might typically be reliable. However, the author very probably has her own agenda. In an interview with Snopes on the same op-ed, she says she respected him when she started working for him and was actually close with him professionally. In my mind, that translates to "he did or said something to piss me off, and now I'll call him out as loudly as people will let me". which again is her right, and Trump being Trump I would not be surprised if every single word she wrote was true. However, I find more often than not there are 3 sides to every story. His side, her side, and the truth. Well, she's talking, and anyone else who was in the room is keeping hush hush, so at best we have a third of the info.

The guy has said worse things on national television before millions of people. That said, what you're saying is strictly true.

And that's why it wouldn't surprise me. He's a man without clue and everyone who isn't presently being paid to pretend otherwise knows it. But he was a man without clue before he was elected, and he was elected anyway. Hell, he was a man without clue when she worked for him. And you're telling me now suddenly she's offended by something he said years ago?

He did it as a kind of power play, that is, he did it as a way to assert his dominance as the owner of Trump Tower. He knew it was illegal and that they wouldn't take it out. Is it ablest? Considering he new it wasn't going to be removed, I would say not.

As far as the line that "No blind person will live in Trump Tower." if it's wealth he's talking about, he is correct. According to the National Federation of the Blind, the median annual household income is $39,700 as of 2015. I have tried to find statistics relating to the 1980s, which is when this allegedly happened, but I can't find any. However, we can use a currency converter which are available online.

With the currency converter I used, it calculated that $39,700 in 2015 was $13, 801 in 1980. We can also use this calculator to find out how much a room in Trump Tower New York costed in 1980. According to a travel magazine article, it costs $1,245 to stay a night in Trump Tower New York; converting this into 1980 currency worth gives us $432 a night.

If we divide $13,801 by $432, we get 31. Thus, one night at Trump Tower in 1980 would have costed you 1/31 of your annual income. I don't think anyone would spend this on a hotel room for one night.

If he were ablest, he most likely would have banned blind people from all of his buildings, but there is no record of him doing that, thus we have to conclude that this whole thing is blown out of proportion.

was Trump Tower a hotel?
Being discriminatory isn't usually banning the excluded group. It's making the thing impossible or unwelcome for them. If this story is true, Trump did that in a way that was extra, not just because it was expensive and most blind people are low income
And yet there are blind people who do have money. Trump saw them as undesirable and didn't want them there
