So I posted a couple of months ago here asking for some advice on the iPhone. I switched to an iPhone last month because my sight got to the point where I required a sceen reader to properly use a smartphone.
So far it's been great, however there's this annoying 'feature' that I want to disable but I haven't managed to find an option for it. Whenever I am in a call, if I slightly move the phone away from my ear, the proximity sensor gets triggered and it switches the loudspeaker On. Then it switches it off as I position the phone properly to my ear. Sometimes it gets confused and after enabling the speaker, I need to press the 'Lock' screen button to turn on the screen so that the proximity sensor starts working again and disabled the loudspeaker when I move the phone next to my ear.
I tried voice calls with VoiceOver disabled just to see if this 'feature' was enabled, but no, it worked fine when VoiceOver is turned off - the loudspeaker does not get turned on when moving the phone away from your ear. All it does is light up the screen where you can manually turn the speaker on.
Any tips on how to sort this out?
