Do you knit? I have some questions about patterns! (self.Blind)
submitted by NearKilroy
Hello! I am a knitwear pattern designer. I want to make my patterns accessible, but I am not sure what those who are blind find helpful when they’re knitting.
I’ve received input that having a larger text option would be beneficial for some people, but if I were to do audio version or something what would help? Do people actual use audio patterns?
Any input is appreciated. Thank you!

I asked my wife about it, who sometimes teaches knitting and have taught knitting, although I think it was mostly low vision people who were able to use ZoomText to enlarge the print. She sent me some links for you.

The one person I know who knits complex patterns who is totally blind uses a screen reader to read off the pattern, I believe.
