Does anyone else remember places menus? (self.Blind)

So I am visually impaired and so I cant see the menu on the wall at every gosh dang place (why don't places put it there even?)and when I go somewhere for the first time I ask whats on the menu and i get told whats on the menu and i also ask what the prices are.And I don't know I just remember the menu i don't really forget it.And i have never thought much of it until my friend and i went to a place and i ordered something and i had the exact amount of money out ahead of time before we even got to counter.And my friend asked (very close friend) how do you know whats on the menu and how much it cost?We hardly ever go here, i don't even remember the last time we went here.And so it got me thinking if others do the same thing and just remember the menu.I do it because its much easier to ask once whats on the menu then ask every time.I just remember it.

I'm probably not as good as you but I remember menus a lot better for fast food joints cus I hate having to ask someone to read it for me.

I do. I remember prices of everything that I like at every restaurant I go to. I also remember phone numbers and addresses if somebody tells me once and I commit it to memory.

Wow phone numbers and addresses?! For sure I can't remember addresses at all and for phone numbers i can only remember a few.Thats so cool though.

Yeah, I dont’ think that’s a universal blind thing or anything like that. I tend to have this photographic memory. I don’t study and I get a or b grades. Studying bores me, and I am at the university level. I’ve been in school for eight years and my attempts at studying is few and far between I could probably count them on one or two hands. And I am not studying anything too easy I am a political science student. Yeah. But that’s not all blind people, I know that. I also have a nakc of remembering streets and have this incredible city grid in my head. I am also a walking talking texbook, dictionary. I also literally never had kept a to do list or callendar because I just naturally remember.
But one thing I can confessing to not remembering is the prices of the menus unless I frequent the place and order a lot, then yes I can absolutely.
But yeah, I can do the numbers too but I don’t think it’s everyone. But that’s neat too know someone else is like that around here.
