Social butterfly blindies and how to cope? (self.Blind)
submitted by estj317
Anyone in this situation? I itch to go out a lot. I can be out all day if I wanted to. It’s not independence holding me back. It’s sometimes transportation, but mostly it’s funds and a lack of knowing where to go. I mean I can’t think of much places restaurants, coffee shops, sometimes the library. But not sure where else. I would love to just talk enlessly to people, and I do in these places, but yeah. Parks are cool, but honestly not sure what to do in them. Wonder around the park and chit chat? That sounds awkward.

Anyone else?

The classic place to do this is a bar, but it sounds like you might not have the dosh. Meetups are a thing if you can get to them. I would recommend learning Esperanto if you don't have something to go to a meetup for, esperantists are always desperate to talk to other esperantists so you'd always have someone to talk to, and a place to sleep in any city. You could also look for counseling sessions or volunteer with a call center.

You don't need cash to hang out at a bar.

Last time I checked drinks cost money. And they don't let you sit around if you don't buy drinks.

Since when didn't they let you sit around if you don't buy drinks?

I don't drink and I sit (or stand) at bars all the time!

You just walk into a bar and stand around? That's great that they don't kick you out, I guess...
