So I was walking home from school with my guide when a car drove past me and the passenger yelled “I LOVE YOU” I have no idea who that person is. It scared the living sh1t out of me and what that person doesn’t know is not only am I visually impaired but I have chronic vasovagal syncope. My guide is also medical alert. That means if my heart rate spikes, I faint with little warning. My dog sticks to my side and alerts me when my heart rate spikes so I can sit down until it goes down and he lays on top of me until my heart rate is down. Because my heart rate spiked so quickly, it was a matter of seconds before I fainted and while he tried to alert I was going down. I can’t just tell people not to be loud or pull pranks or goof around especially in a public place. I woke up with my dog on top of me and two kids from my school standing over me unsure whether to laugh or call an ambulance. This literally happened maybe 10 mins before posting. If only people realized to just not screw around around disabled people...
