Every week, I read aloud for a volunteer radio station for the visually impaired and now we need your help (self.Blind)

I am reposting this instead of a x-post because the original might be removed over at /r/books. I was referred here by a user. Please let me know if this post is not allowed.

I am making this post on behalf of Audio Reader at the University of Kansas, acting as an ambassador for fundraising. For those who do not know, Audio Reader is a radio station dedicated to reading for the visually impaired. Every week, hundreds of volunteers read countless hours of a wide variety of reading material for an audience all across the Midwest using phones, radio, and internet hosting. This has had a dramatic impact on people's lives, allowing them to stay up to date on news, events, learn recipes or store sales, or even learning how to care for their goat! If you want to learn more about the everyday effects Audio Reader has on people's lives, you can watch a short video here: $1.

As I said before, this is ultimately a request for donation. No longer receiving state funding, Audio Reader now must run independently off donations from people like you. Today I am spending the day advocating for an organization I care for deeply and I would appreciate if you could give anything at all to help us out. The link to donate is here: $1. Just click "Give Now" and it should have "Audio Reader" pre-selected. Please spread this on any and all social media or email or text so it can reach as wide an audience as possible. Every little bit helps and I, and many of the listener's Audio Reader reaches, would personally appreciate your donation

Have you looked into the Amazon Smile program? When shoppers start on Amazon's Smile storefront, they can choose the charity Amazon donates a portion of their purchases to. I don't see your program in the list. I spoke directly with the charity I chose and they informed me that it has been beneficial to their program. Once a shopper chooses a charity, anytime they shop at smile.amazon.com, the charity gets a portion of the money spent. You simply encourage listeners and the community to choose your organization from the list of options. It's a simple way to get your community involved in getting your charity a little additional funding.

Hmm I had heard of Amazon smile but I wasn't aware just anyone could sign up for it. This is great information, thank you.

The only requirement to sign up to receive funds from Amazon Smile, as far as I know, is that it is a legally registered charity. The list of charities to choose from has grown a lot since I started using Smile to shop.
