Looking to make a character in the novel i’m writing go directly from seeing clearly to blind after a catastrophic accident, what went through your mind when you found out that you would never see the see again? (self.Blind)

Everyone is different. How would you feel if you were suddenly blinded by an accident?

And it’s probably impossible to imagine. Figuring out my reaction to blindness took several years and was deeply intertwined with other events in my life.
If how a person feels about it doesn’t change over time it wouldn’t seem realistic. Also there’s a lot of surface level stuff that gets quickly forgotten and replaced with deeper questions, mostly having to do with society.

I was on powerful drugs and painkillers to deal with another health issue when the blindness came suddenly. I do not remember much of that time thanks to the drugs.
It was when i stopped those meds that reality hit me so hard. Naturally, depression kicked in.
It was so painful to realize that I would never be able to gaze at the stars again, i loved to look at the stars. It was hard and painful, still is, sometimes.

So like some say it depends on the person.

Some people describe me as harder than nails. Some say I am fearless. I am mbti entj. So honestly, not too much. I think I’d feel a little interesting inside and want to investigate how to do it and if there was a way to maintain independance, find help quickly.

Mor emotional people definitely react differently just depends on how you think honestly and as some say how your mind is wired and geared.

The process of going blind didn't bother me for the most part as I accepted it fairly well. The only problem was when I finally lost the ability to read magnified high contrast text on the screen since it affected my ability to code, and that's something I find hard to live without.
