Any blind rowers out there (self.Blind)
submitted by Bachelor-pad-72
Hey everybody, I am blind and getting in to indoor rowing. I just updated my pm5 to the latest version and then discovered that there is an application you can use on your computer called erg chatter.
I am currently using erg data to keep track of and record my workouts but from the little bit of looking around I have done, erg chatter seems to be able to offer more customization except when I plug my p.m. five into my computer the software keeps on repeating there is not a erg plugged in even though I’m sure my computer recognizes it is pluged in having just updated it through the cord
If anyone can offer any help I would be grateful

Sorry I can’t help with this question, but just wanted to comment and encourage erging. I just attended an erg sprint competition today that my son participated in and it’s amazing the skill and endurance that’s used for erging and rowing. I would also encourage adaptive rowing if you haven’t already explored it.

Hello, thank you for the reply
I have been introduced to adaptive rowing but am finding owning a concept to without any modifications is working well for me right now. I do agree it seems like a great aerobic workout with also having the potential for a high-intensity workout. Hope your son is doing well and enjoying it

Hey. I have a concept 2 rower but I haven't used the pc app. If no one responds here, try emailing customer support, but I think the computer app was discontinued after they released ErgData.

Hello, thank you very much for the reply. I love rowing I just hoped for a few more features than the ios app erg data provides. For example the ability to compete with oneself and have the app automatically let you know or show you when you have surpassed your goal. Or when your drive time is improving. I've heard that there is a live rowing app out there but that it is not that good currently. Do you do anything in particular to challenge yourself or any better method of recording stats
other app then erg data?

Honestly, I haven't rowed in a while and should really get back to it. As for another app, maybe you should take a look at Painsled, but I'm not sure how accessible it is. It also isn't free.
