Talkback no longer does touch typing on S10(self.Blind)
submitted by questions4theblind
All of a sudden my touch typing stopped working (the one where you find the letter then lift to insert). I now have to double tap each letter to insert it. This only happens when using Talkback (Google) but Voice Assistant (Samsung) screen reader still works fine.
Also is there something similar to direct touch typing on iPhone but for Android

Are you talking about just the keyboard? Rapid key input on the Samsung keyboard only works with Voice Assistant. Try using Gboard instead. If you're talking about other stuff like the lock screen or default dialer, that seems to be a new thing Samsung did in Pie because Samsung.
On the topic of Talkback, you're not likely to get much help here. Most people use Voiceover. I'm happy to help but there's not that many of us.

And you sir are a lifesaver.
Now wondering if there is direct touch like on iPhone because that would be even super. But babysteps I guess.

There... is? This is a major thing keeping me on iOS. Is this Samsung only?

It used to work when I first got the phone. Will give Gboard a go. Fingers crossed.
