I am considering purchasing a camera that I might wear while out and about for mostly just general recording use purposes. Is anyone aware of or can suggest a good accessible go pro model or similar type camera? Does anyone else ever wear a camera when they go out, or put one on their dog? I have no dog, just curious about that part.

We have a Go Pro, your issue is going to be battery life. It can record a lot, but it doesn’t retain, nor have the battery power, 12 hours.

There was a news story in 2017 about Amit Patel of London, UK, who put a GoPro on is guide dog.
Amit has a twitter https://twitter.com/BlindDad_Uk?lang=en
and of course so does his guide dog Kika https://twitter.com/kika_guidedog?lang=en

I have a GoPro hero 5 black that I bought specifically because it has voice control. It works pretty well, if admittedly the voice control can't do very much. The GoPro app is ... sorta accessible, at least on iOS. It's your typical non-accessibility-optimised thing, with quite a few unlabelled buttons, but it does allow you, once connected to your camera, to change its settings in an accessible fashion. Just thought I'd share my experience.,

I prefer audio recordings - only because I can't actually see the video. So with that said, I use a pair of binaurals hooked onto my ears. Or if they're unavailable a physical recorder, phone, watch etc.

Though I haven't tried these personally, Andre Louis recently picked up a pair of $1 that he seems to be happy with.
