Website overhaul (self.Blind)
submitted by WinterSoldier55
Hello r/Blind

I have taken the time to search for the answer to my question on this subreddit, and on WebAIM.

Ultimately, I am overhauling a website, and accessibility is my main concern.

It would seem that NVDA is the screen reader of choice, in that it is free, and that it is reliable most of the time particularly with Firefox.

JAWS is the screen reader that I am familiar with, but I am beginning to think it is time for a change.

I’m seeing mixed results. What do you all think?

In terms of testing, I suggest that you test in a large variety of use cases so you can ensure that your website works with many different screen reader/browser combinations. This opens you up to more users, because they are not restricted into having to use one particular combination.

Test with NVDA, JAWS, Voice Over, and Narrator. Forgot Talkback.
