Hey, my mom just recently became blind. She has always been blind in her right eye since birth, but I n the past 2 years she has lost most of her eyesight in her left eye due to a macular hole, and then the retina tearing 3 times. She can still see shapes and colors, but she has an oil bubble in her eye that prevents her from seeing details. In order for her to read anything, she has to have the paper touching her nose and use a 10x magnifying glass that lets her read one word at a time.
For the past ten years since I started working we have always just done dinner, but this is the first year that I own a car and can actually do something special with her. I don’t live with my parents anymore, but we are just down the road and my mother and I always make sure to spend time together every week. Are there any suggestions of things I can do with my blind mother to make this Mother’s Day special?
