What is the best voice for NVDA and other screen readers? (self.Blind)
submitted by CompanionBeta
I have been searching for better voices for NVDA that are clear and expressive but I can't seem to find any way to add more than the Windows default, If anyone knows any clear and expressive voices please share.

Eloquence is good. As a default, Samantha sounds a lot like Voiceover and so she can be easier to understand for VO users

There's http://www.acapela-nvda.com/ which has a free trial.

There's also eloquence for NVDA. https://www.nvaccess.org/product/eloquence-and-vocalizer-expressive-add-on-for-nvda/

I can't say if you'd like either of these better as I personally use espeak ng, but those are the premium options I know of.

I like Microsoft's Zira voice. I usually use a Braille display, but when I turn on speech synthesis I use Zira.
