Wait, WHAT?? You're legally blind and you've never been to the ophthalmologist? Shug!

Haul yourself in there. In fact, call the nearest legit ophthalmology dept (not optometry, dude. OPHTHALMOLOGY) and speak to a triage nurse about a stat appt.

As for what you can can't see? 20/200 and seeing your screen from 5 feet is damn good. I'm an inches viewer, myself. Faces? Yeah, inches there, too.

Part of me suspects drama because you're not in touch with exactly what your acuity is really capable of (20/200 lifetimer, here. Even with the catara t removed/lens repla ement, I'm STILL 20/200. I can see my monitor from 11 inches, now instead of nosegrease striping it with bottle-bottom glasses like I've don't my whole life.) but I'll suspend that disbelief for a nano and just shake my head in sadness. We've had eye specialists for a couple decades, now. Go see one. See a second if the results are ambiguous or the prognosis is as dire as the progress of your vision loss is as you describe.

There are treatments for glaucoma, for example. Cancers can be treated, too. Retinal defects sometimes have solutions.

May you find answers. May they bebetter than you expect.
