Happenned to me with a basketball ball (don’t have RP but a genetic condition that makes me very prone to retina detachments) and sure enough it was a retina detachement. I got surgery for it and it was good for a bit thoygh. Do they really have no idda what’s causing it ?

3 weeks seems like a lot to wait for sudden sight loss!! Good luck I hope it all goes smoothly!! Thanks a lot for the encouragement same goes to you!! I also very suddently lost my sight in the left eye when I was 18 and if that helps in anyway, the best way to cope is just letting time do its thing and be adventurous with things yoûre scared of doing, until you realize that you’re getting by just fine.

If you have RP do you already have a consultant ophthalmologist you are "under" that you can try and see? I have pathological myopia and my consultant would never want me to go via A&E but via her secretary instead.

Haven't experienced that myself, but I feel with you mate. I've got hit with soccer balls several times in my life, and I'm glad it hasn't effected me in any way yet. I didn't know that this could happen, and now I'm starting to get worried myself.

I'm glad you've gotten some medical advise from your doctor, so let's hope that your vision comes back in 3 weeks.

Stay strong.
