Do any of you guys or girls use a Samsung Galaxy A30? (self.Blind)
submitted by Terry_Pie
I'm in the market for a new phone and I am looking at getting a Samsung Galaxy A30, but I've one thing I want to be sure about before I buy it: does it support talkback/voice assistance?

This might seem like a bit of a silly question, surely all phones support such a thing these days right? My current phone, a Samsung Galaxy A3, does not have an option to turn it on. Trust me. I have gone through every single menu a dozen times trying to figure out why the option doesn't exist when, as far as I am aware, it should. It's not horrendous because I can still read large font and high contrast, but I won't be able to forever and want to get used to using the feature.

Regardless though, I need a new phone because my A3 is grinding to a halt, and so I want to make sure the option definitely is available and working on the A30 before I spend the money on it.

Thanks in advance for your assistance :)

Comparing a phone from 2014 to a more modern one might be easier than you think.

Not alot of people on this sub are in the Android camp. Personally, my Note 9 with the stylus is an invaluable magnifier in my day to day life. Talkback works excellently.

I would be surprised if Talkback didn't work with all that's happened in the ecosystem since then. Is there any way you can test drive it in person to be certain?

Yes, I'm aware the blind/VI community as a whole are largely iPhone users. Apple has done a lot of good work on accessibility for their products after all.

I'll see if I can find a store that'll let me have a play with one. Unfortunately I've come down with a cold so that'll have to wait till I'm back at work.
