Just downloaded Be My Eyes and had a couple questions to ask you guys about it! (self.Blind)
submitted by Lifehighjimmy
I myself am not visually impaired although probably in need of glasses but i came across this amazing app and in a bit of a low spot thought it would be good to help someone else out!
Now the thing i wanna ask is with basically 2.3 million people volunteering to help the visually impaired on the app how come there is only a 100 thousand or so users and what are yours guys thoughts on the app in terms of its it helped you or if you have a reason not to use it as im genuinely curios?

I'm a huge introvert so it's like a last resort option for me, but I'm really glad it's around and I hope there are always more volunteers than people in need.

Thanks for answering it is awesome soo many people want to take the little bit of time to do something like this before i heard of it i didnt even really think how something this small could make such a mad difference to people! Would you think a text base service would be better for that know the feeling maybe that would be easier accesible less intrusive?

Personally, I would rather send a pic of a soup can with my question and wait for a chat response. I don't know how many people feel similarly.

Do you use BeSpecular instead, then? I take calls and requests on both.

Never heard of it, but I will check it out.

Yeah i could see that being alot more accesible and kinda less hassle like the pi ouls be sent to everyone and the first reply you see type thing hopefully that would mean more people would use it if they didnt need to download an app maybe just visit a website to talk on chat?

I've used it quite a few times. Had nothing but good experiences each time.
