NFB is upon us again and is out in Las Vegas this year. Anyone here attending? I'll be there from the 7th through the 12th, come say Hi at the Lyft booth in the exhibit hall! :)

As somebody who isn't even a member of the NFB, could you give a tl;dr on what one would do at this convention? I've seen a lot about it lately.

I've also been wondering if I should join NFB, ACB, or something.

Hi, so it’s in Las Vegas this year. The agenda is published in the webpage www.nfb.org
I plan to attend a Spanish Seminar tomorrow, and later in the week a group meeting for people that are in the same profession I am.
I plan to attend the Exhibit Hall and the Independence Market where I will check out the latest in technology and purchase items that I need at home.
Resolutions are important in the convention, as they are the planned topics that the Federation will focus on during the following year.
There are people that bash the NFB, but it’s definitely an experience that you need to have yourself, before you determine if you like it or not.
Some people do come to drink and have sex, I’ll do some partying of my own.
The majority of people come to learn and take in as many resource as possible, because they need them.

Basically an excuse to party. Which hey, I'm not knocking that.

Going to convention probably only makes sense if you are involved in your local chapter of either organization. These are mostly events for activists and chapter leaders. There are exhibit halls and some general interest sessions. Yes, some people do go just to party too.

I’m going to drive over there for a couple of days to meet some folks and hand out some of my products. Looking forward to it!

What kind of products do you offer?

I created reusable braille labels for food and drink cans, medicine bottles, etc. The labels are made of a hand washable plastic, click onto the outside of a can, and have engraved text of what the label says on the inside face for sighted helpers.

If you want to see what I have available my company is candoable and $1. Don’t know if this is ok per the rules, but I’d rather answer your question completely.

I wanted to go so bad but the money is the issue over here

I've been. It's alright, definitely not worth going unless a company's sponsoring you though.
