Is anyone here involved with Public Speaking? (self.Blind)
submitted by Carnegie89
Are you involved with any public speaking organization like Toastmaters International or similar? If not with an organization how do you do it?

Doesn't have to be just speaking in front of people, it could be standup comedy, motivational speaker, professional speaker and many others. If you vlog or make YouTube videos, that could count too.

I competed, coached, and judged in speech and debate from middle school through my junior year of undergrad!

Starting my career as a HS ELA teacher and it will be an important part of the curriculum.

I taught Bible study prior to my vision loss and continue to do so now. I also volunteer a couple times a year to fill in for our minister when he needs time off.

Given those two facts (vision loss and Bible involvement) I am reminded of the scene from Arrested Development where a Bible-inflicted head injury "restores a character's eyesight." Har har har! :)

I’ve heard Arrested Development is funny. I need to check it out. The Scriptures say God works in mysterious ways, so I guess a Bible-inflicted head injury would fill that bill...lol.

Yeah, it's a hilarious show, but the reboot is not so great. The family it is about (the Bluths) is supposed to be the Trumps. Except for the fact that one of them is decent and honest, tryna hold the down the fort.
