How do you check best before dates on food. Do you ask somebody and then just remember it or something? Things like bread have a tag on the bag but obviously thats not braille.

Fridge organization is extremely important. Those best before dates could be written anywhere in a variety of different formats, so apps that read print might not be the best option for reading them. I personally keep track of things in my fridge that go bad quickly, like leftovers and meat and throw them out if I haven't used them in a week or so. The other things like salsa, sour cream, and sauces, I keep for longer. If I don't remember when I bought it, it's time to throw it out. If dates are extremely important to you, you can label them once you get home from the store using a system that works for you like large print, braille, or rubber bands etc. Or use an app like Be My Eyes to borrow someone who can visually check.

Hi, on the subject line you included TVI-O&M, I imagine you’ll be working with a student regarding this topic. It would be important to discuss the purchasing of those items. Is the student going to have a personal shopper? The student needs to be able to ask questions and have a system to take notes. For example: How many hot pockets are in this bag? When is the due date on this gallon of milk? What color do these bananas have?

The dates don’t matter. There are too many factors. https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/best-enjoyed-by/
