For those of you who were born blind, how do you have a visual concept of what things look like? (self.Blind)
submitted by park_injured
Or are they mostly things that your brain "guesses" to be as close to realistic as possible? I'm just really curious, because I saw some posts where people who were born blind have vivid dreams, but I'm confused how you would have dreams of things if you never saw them to begin with?

On a side note, I have a lot of respect for you guys. Life is hard enough as it is, and you guys are able to even type on online forums like these. Takes a lot of willpower and smarts to learn all this without vision. Thanks in advance, and I really hope we develop a cure for blindness someday.

For me, I visualize things through touch.

If I’ve touched a thing enough, chances are; I’ll have a memory of what it feels like in my head.
