WebAim Screen Reader User Survey (self.Blind)
submitted by CloudyBeep
WebAim is an organization that is part of Utah State University which does work in the area of web accessibility. Around every two years, they conduct a survey to measure the popularity of different screen readers, and the demographics and preferences of screen reader users.

Why should you complete this survey?
• You're contributing to the largest global long-term study into screen reader usage.
• The survey is arguably the most respected and anticipated survey of screen reader users worldwide.
• The results are used by governments, accessibility-auditing companies, blindness organizations, companies that value accessibility and web developers to inform best practices for website design for screen reader users.
• This is one of the only surveys that charts changes in screen reader usage and screen reader users' preferences over time.

The survey is quite short, and WebAim would like both people who use screen readers due to disability and web developers to complete it. Please pass this link on to screen reader users you know so that they can also help to influence website design over the next couple of years.

Thanks for sharing! this is a vital survey as we often refer developers (particularlyw eb developers) with questions to this.

It also helps the companies who make screen readers no what they should focus on, and assists researchers in tracking trends over time when presenting papers that can help convince companies/schools/organizations they are important and relevant.
