I lost my job due to being diagnosed legally blind and not being able to drive any longer... I have spent the past year applying to job after job who see my work history and are impressed until they find out i cant drive... I am going INSANE doing nothing everyday... I need to do something productive... But i dont know what to do... I have access to Boston Massachusetts... And i have experience with taking care of/helping/teaching adults with developmental disabilities... I need ideas on what to do because i am going mental doing nothing and feeling worthless getting denied jobs i am over qualified for... And feel like i am rotting away...

I live in LA. My husband drives for this company called Access. He takes people with medical disabilities who cannot drive, anywhere they need to go. The US govt pays a contractor to have this done. I would start looking and see if there is such a service in Boston. Ok never mind I'm looking it up for you!

Ok here is an article: https://www.boston.gov/departments/disabilities-commission/transportation-help-people-disabilities There is public accessibilities transit through something called MBTA
https://mbta.com/accessibility

It looks like you may like a service called "The Ride" https://mbta.com/accessibility/the-ride

I hope this helps start you off. My husband knows a totally blind passenger (he takes her regularly) and she works at the computer (amazing to me!) So best of luck to you with finding some work so you don't go stir crazy!
