Gift for grieving relative (self.Blind)

Hi,
I was hoping to get an opinion from someone who might know whether this is a stupid idea or not!
Basically my Granddad's dog passed away on Saturday and he is devastated and heartbroken. He's severely visually impaired and I want to give him a gift that would mean something to him - I have a few photos of him and his dog, I thought a photo or painting may just depress him as he can no longer see (as sometimes he can get very down about this, not because I think he should be depressed!!) so I want something he can feel maybe? Like an engraved picture?
Does this sound like a ridiculous idea? I'm not really close with the other people in my family with the same condition so I have no one who could tell me whether this would be any use!!
I'd like to be able to help him keep the memory of his companion alive.

What about something that smells like the pupper? I know it may be dumb but I have a sweater my dog Luna would wear and it smells just like her. I miss her so much but that helps me cope when I'm feeling super down about her death.
But that's also me assuming there is anything left from the dog or anyone even know what he smelled like. >.<

Ahh that's a lovely idea but I'm not sure! I'm three hours away so can't get there to find out yet

If this was recent can you call the vet the dog was sent to and get an impression of the paw? Many vet clinics will do something like this.

Stuffed animal of dog. I don’t know the price, but I’ve seen them now and then and they look adorable.

Yes! Might sound dumb but I once gifted a stuffed cat to my grandma and she was so happy about it!
