I just installed NVDA and it reads everything but what's in my browser. It will read the title of a site and it's reading what I type right now, but it won't read any other page elements or navigate through anything when I'm in my browser. Any NVDA users know what's going on here? (No, I'm not going to switch to Chrome or Internet Explorer to fix the problem.) I do have Ublock Origins installed and a dark theme running that sometimes causes problems with other sites. Could either of those be an issue with NVDA? Thanks for any help!

Have a look in Firefox's settings. There's a setting in the privacy tab called "Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser". Make sure it's disabled.

That fixed it. What a ridiculous setting. Why would they have that setting?! Thanks for the tip!

I suspect it's because malicious applications could pretend to be a screen reader and grab information from your browser. Since the majority of people don't need a screen reader, setting this to the default is more secure.

Try reinstalling firefox, it works fine out of the box for me with NVDA.
They seem to work fine with each other. What happens when you try to navigate? Have you tried the Run COM registration fixing tool on NVDA tools menu and a restart?
