Braille Music Notator (self.Blind)
submitted by keepingthecommontone
Hi, /r/blind! I wanted to pop in and let you know, if anyone is interested, that I made a big update today to my free online web application, $1. Braille Music Notator is a utility for creating and editing music scores using braille music notation. It is designed with a graphic interface for sighted musicians like myself — the main idea is that it shows the braille music characters with icons that denote their musical meanings — but I've tried to keep it completely WAI-ARIA compliant, so it works well with a screen reader like JAWS, NVDA or VoiceOver.

Today's update adds some nice features, I think, including the ability to enter notes using a MIDI keyboard, and the ability to import MusicXML files (a standard file format used by programs like Finale and MuseScore).

The program is in beta, and I'm sure there are still quite a few bugs lurking in there, but if any of you work with music notation I hope you'll give it a try. And if you have any feedback or questions, please don't hesitate to let me know!
