I'm of low vision and struggle to get my sideburns at equal length when I shave using a trimmer.
Does anyone have any tips or tools to help with this?
I'm thinking of something that you can attach to the middle of your ear lobe or use it as a guide so when I run the trimmer it would be even on both sides.
For my beard I just use a trimmer at 0 and this works pretty well for me it's just getting the sideburns right that is an issue.
Currently I have to ask for assistance with this but I'd like to be able to do this on my own as it seems very possible with the right equipment.
Aby other grooming tips or hacks that you have or know of would be most welcome so feel free to post them below
Thanks

I use a finger on the top of my ear as a guide so my side burns are level with my ear plus two fingers.

Look up “shaving templates”. There’s ones you can cut out of paper, or you can get them on plastic. They hook around your ears and then you shave around them.

I struggle with this and am fully sighted.
I use my fingers on both sides of my head to feel where they’re about even. Use your ear lobes as a landmark.
Remember faces are not symmetrical anyway.
You may ask a friend to help you work out where is even so you can get used to the feel of it when it is even.

I calculate the length by putting my glasses on. I touch the leg of the glasses and a point in my ear, and that helps me line myself. I have facial hair, which I clean and trim. When it gets too long, I need help to give it shape, and I maintain it for a month or two independently.

To be honest I’m kind of lazy. So I just take a razor to my entire face, sideburns included. But that’s just me LOL. It’s a lot easier to get rid of it, rather than style it. Same with my hair. Save a buck and just buzz your head with a 0 guard on the clippers all the way around. Really easy to feel if you miss stuff if your hair isn’t super soft

I just go to a barber. Saves the hassle.

No time to do that unfortunately I barely get time to go and when I do it's always really busy. Plus I couldn't justify the amount of money I'd feel I'm wasting when I feel like the problem shouldn't be too difficult to solve.

You could do it yourself, and whenever you get your hair cut (because most people do), you could ask him to tidy it up then.
