Looking for feedback ideas from this community regarding audio recordings of famous texts. (self.Blind)

I am doing a special project for a series on my podcast and I would like some help from people with vision impairments. I am in the process of recording audio versions of famous texts and documents throughout history that may not be in audio format. At least all in one place. My son has cortical vision impairment and his love of listening to me read inspired me to make a catalog of famous hand written letters, classic poems, addresses, oaths, laws etc.

I’ve already made my way through famous love letters. Here is a small sample of the episode. The series is called

$1

I’m looking for more ideas of things to read aloud so more people can enjoy all these really cool and beautifully articulated parts of our history in audio form.

Any resources would be appreciated though. I’m not the best at searching the internet. I’m going to check the library for a better source for reading material all in one place.

If you have any ideas feel free to leave them here or send me a message.

Thanks so much!

If you want a network to look into that might already have some of this available please look up LibriVox. they have plays, poems, essays, short stories, novels anything in the public domain.

What a beautiful idea! I love that you're reading handwritten letters. This is just so cool, and your voice really is wonderful to listen to.

Also...

All the little, local museums all over the country (and world) are filled with hand-written, primary sources that no one ever sees, much less hears.

You'll stay plenty busy with all the famous sources, but you might also consider following the path of what your son is interested in. There are museums for every interest! And all that material is just sitting there. The people running the museum might really welcome the chance to have audio recordings done for free. :-)
