Just updated my windows 10 and now JAWS has a weird echo.(self.Blind)
submitted by mashington14
My jaws sounds like it has a reverb on it, or their are two voices speaking almost simultaneously. When I go into an edit field, I can hear two beeps very close together.
I've had this problem before, but now I can't find the solution I used before after a bunch of googling. I remember it was a quick fix, but I can't figure it out after playing around with settings. Anyone know how to fix this? thanks.

Why I use NVDA, no bugs and relies on donations not charging disgusting money for jaws, which doesn’t have anything thatNVDA doesn’t

I’m an NVDA user and can tell you it, like any other software, has bugs.
JAWS isn’t bad, honestly I prefer its customizability compared to NVDA.

Occasionally JAWS will try to run two versions of itself simultaneously. This is obvious, but have you tried restarting your PC and ensuring that only one copy of JAWS appears to be active?

You could see if the sounds enhancements are enabled?
Or go to device manager and look for sounds then use the applications key and look for update drives, press enter on that and tab to find drivers on my computer and install realtech enhanced, I think that’s what it’s called, if not, look in that list for an audio driver and try it.
Sorry, I know these instructions are kind of vague but it’s been a while since I had to do something like this.
