Hey!
I'm an engineering student from Ireland.
One of my favourite pastimes is watching sports, particularly football (soccer) on TV, and it is one thing in particular, out of many that I really value my sight for!
People with impaired vision have always inspired me and fascinated me, and I'm interested in putting a team together and developing a device that will allow users to "watch" any field sports games live by tracking the location of the ball with their fingers/thumbs, as well as creating visualisations of goals scored.
The concept will be similar to
$1 but a fully portable end-user product, along with a few other useful functions.
The only problem is that I have never met a blind/visually impaired person in my life, and have no idea if
1: there is demand for such a product
2: this concept would be useful, compared to just listening to the commentary.
So before I begin this seriously and start prototyping etc, I'd really love to talk to some sports fans to discuss my ideas further, and to get their opinions., as well as anyone with technical knowledge. If there is enough interest, I may make a survey.
Thank you!
