What are some of the worst blind accidents you have had? (self.Blind)

You did not specify what sort of accident, so: Went to an amusement park with my family, who are all girls. Stupid me did not bring my cane. Needed to use the bathroom, went in, thought I found a urinal, turns out it was a sink, which I urinated under. It was a rather busy bathroom. I have not found the clip of this on Youtube yet, but would not be surprised to do so. Anyway, no physical damage, but the mortification was real!

I once misjudged a crossing and got hit by a bus 🤦🏻‍♀️

That sounds terrifying. Getting hit by a moving vehicle is definitely in my top 5 fears.

I was lucky, it was only going 5-10mph and I only ended up with a few bruises but it still freaks me out how much worse it could’ve been

Broke my toe after stubbing it into the wooden leg of a couch while drunk.

That would be a drunk accident

Mild shoulder dislocation a week ago (to be fair, that shoulder was weak to begin with from an unrelated injury years back) - feels mostly find now; a little achey and sore to the touch.

A mild concussion a few years ago.

Multiple twisted ankles over the years from not seeing curbs/potholes. - I use a white cane now.

Fell off a fairly short cliff and cracked my ribs.

When I was still going through O&M and learning to navigate steps, I missed a step and fell down an entire case of stairs at my university via my back. The second worst incident would be when I misjudged a curb and tore my knee open.

I fell off my porch while moving a bed, I landed on my knee about 4 feet fall. It hurt like hell.

I ran into a sign and somehow got a concussion, and I think it gave me slight memory loss

Fell down a few steps, almost knocked out my teeth.

Not worst physically, but embarrassing. Walked into the men’s bathroom while at a fancy work dinner entertaining clients. My skirt was nice and full, with a bright red petticoat that made it stand out. So, of course the man in the next stall saw my red taffeta petticoat, and said “OP, is that you?” It was a client. That’s when I realized I was in the wrong bathroom.

Luckily, he’s also a really nice guy, and we’ve laughed about it since, but when I came back to the table my face must have been as red as my petticoat...

My seeing eye dog jumped up and hit me in the face knocking me out cold whilst crossing a busy city street. Had it not been for a pedestrian man who saw it and stopped a 10 ton truck feet from me I would've been killed. The driver of the truck never saw me.

The dog went straight back to the training centre where a month later was retired on risk factor grounds. I spent two days in hospital for concussion.

Walked into more than my fair share of walls, it hurts a lot.

I fell off a cliff and injured my wrist. I guess it wasn't really bad, I have no pain in the region. I learned to use a cane soon after.

Accidentally stuck my hand into a female colleague's armpit. Didn't realise she was going in for a hug so I stuck out my hand to shake hers and landed up sticking it into her armpit.

Fell to a train track and got hit by an incoming train, was lucky enough to not lose any limbs or even break bones. Can't remember the train hitting me, my only memories are of seeing the train coming and thinking it was my end followed by someone pulling me off the track after the train stopped.

I am so sorry you went through that!

Fell walking to the bus to work. Gave myself a shiner, bloody nose, badly scraped up face, dislocated two fingers, broke my collar bone and bruised my shoulder. Year before I missed a pothole at night and broke my kneecap. Since I began using my cane I haven’t fallen once (frantically looking for something wooden to knock on).

I mentioned this recently, but I got the edge of a sign in the face. It had been put outside a house that was for sale and was made of a corrugated plastic. Fell over in the wind and I have a tiny scar across the bridge of my nose.
