What temporary jobs are good for a visually impaired person/ anything I can do to help my BIL? (self.Blind)
submitted by angelalacla
My husband’s brother just had a cornea transplant in his one good eye. It will take 12-18 months until he will be eligible for laser surgery to correct his vision, and in the meantime he’s unemployed, living with his mum and worried that he will be extremely bored. Are there any good suggestions for jobs he can apply for or any other ways we can help out or make things easier?

He doesn’t need help with daily activities, he can see enough with his other eye to get around the house and read a little bit on his phone but I don’t think he’s up to going out on his own currently. We got him an audible subscription for Christmas but are there any other things that would be a good gift? We don’t live very close by but ideas for enjoyable days out might also be useful. Thank you!

There are playing cards, knitting needles, crochet needles, there’s also puzzles

Honestly, for things to keep him entertained just type in [game/item] for blind.

The other commenter on job training really is right, with no idea of what he has done in the past there’s no real suggestion to offer.

What kinds of job training does he have? That would probably be the biggest factor in figuring out a job.
