I figured I wouldn’t have a problem reading the output but returns seeing as it’s command line but I can’t do it with NVDA or jaws no matter what cursor I use.

How are you installing and using git? I tend to use Cygwin for it on pre-10 Windows versions, and its own bash shell, or on windows 10 the WSL, such as Debian.
Not sure how the git bash comes preconfigured or what it's actually running of the top of my head, but those are alternatives that would work.

Thanks I figured out the problem. For some reason I was getting a > rather than a $ as a prompt once I exited out of that I was fine.

getting a > prompt is usually a result of an unbalanced quote in the bash command line.
