First of all, sorry if my english is bad. I am from Switzerland and can't speak english fluently. So my boyfriend and I got together almost two years ago. His father is blind and he is one of the most kindest person I know. I am doing an apprenticeship and we have to write an essay about a subject that we find interesting. It should also be a subject where we are able to interview someone with experience in it. Because the story of my boyfriend's father inspires me so much, I want to write about the life of people with visual impairment. I wanted to ask him if I could maybe do an interview with him about his experience and his life. He never told me anything about his blindness. Now I don't know how I should ask him and I am afraid that he might take it as an insult that I want to interview him. He should not think that I only see him as a blind person because I just like him as the person he is and sometimes I even forget that he can't see.
Should I ask him and how? Am I thinking too much about it? What do you think?
It would be great if someone could give me some advice or maybe tell me how they would feel in his situation.
