Orbit reader or BrailleMe (self.Blind)
submitted by Unlucky-Water
I'm looking into buying a new braille display, but can't afford the more expensive variety. I've gotten to play around with the orbit reader. I love the battery life and the firmness of the dots, but I know a lot of people whoVe had issues with dots not working after a few months. I haven't gotten to play with the BrailleMe, and I've heard that there have been issues with dots not popping up all the way. Do both displays use the same technology for developing braille cells? Is the battery life comparable? Any thoughts on build quality and performance quality in either? Thanks for your help.

Hey, I just had to get a braille display myself. I know I can't answer any of the more technical questions, and I'm sorry about that, but I here that the Orbit is more durable and generally a better buy than the braille me. I know this isn't really saying much...
I think the fact that you've gotten to play around with the Orbit is a definite + and it's what I went for in the end. I hope you manage to make the best choice for you.
