I really don't want to sound harsh, because changes in vision can be scary. And it's important to keep up with your optometrist to make sure nothing else is going on.

But, to be clear...from what you've told us...you're nearsighted? So is like half the population of the world! I don't remember exact statistics but its something like 30-40% of adults in US and Europe and double that in Asia. Are you really complaining to the blind community about needing to wear glasses to see??? What's wrong with wearing glasses?!? Wearing glasses doesn't make your eye stretch.....

If you don't like the look of glasses...get contacts. If you can't wear/afford contacts, stick with glasses until your condition is stable and get corrective surgery. Either way, take your doctor's advice.

"In 2010, an estimated 1.9 billion people (27% of the world's population) were myopic, and 70 million of them (2.8%) had high myopia" (retinatoday.com).

To add to that, if your myopia is so low that you're a candidate for LASIK, you're preaching to the wrong choir.

Eye exercises are a myth. Wear your damn glasses.

...why would you choose to not wear contacts/glasses if they’re still able to work for you?

Wearing or not wearing glasses is probably not that important for your eyesight.

Cut sugar. Cut processed vegetable oils. Take sunlight. These are much more important. Prevent diabetes, heart disease and macular degeneration.
