Tactile zipper pulls? (self.Blind)
submitted by JynxBJJ
I’m looking for tactile zipper pulls; plus for them being interesting or funny.

I got an excellent backpack fir Christmas. Several pockets, pleanty of space for my personal gear and a day trip with my guide dog. However, I’m tired of opening the wrong zipper several times a day. The pockets are set up so they are very close to each other, so 8m frequently getting in the phone pocket when I need the towel pocket (I’m a froopie dude, and my dog also gets wet). Any suggestions?

Hit up your local fabric/sewing store. If they don't specifically have zipper pulls (which they probably will) they'll at least have thousands of unique buttons you can tie on with wire or strong thread

If you can get access to a 3D printer, you could pick your own shapes / textures. Link to a bunch of free models on thingverse : https://www.thingiverse.com/tag:zipper_pull

Was going to make the same suggestion.
Thingiverse.com is a great resource & the alt tags are usually pretty spot on. A lot of public libraries will print .stl files for small fee based on the weight of the item & zipper pulls aren't generally more than a gram, so cost would be low. Generally, you can email them the request & flat zipper pulls usually only take under 10 minutes to print, so turn around should be minimal.

SOURCE: I have printed a bunch of larger zipper pulls for a coworker with gripping and dexterity issues.

I put small keychains/charms on my backpack zippers.

it is VERY important to know where your towel is, you hoopy frood!

I got some little space invader zipper pulls at Target one time, and they were similar but different shapes, and you could easily paint them with textured paint (like glossy/matte/glitter nail polish) or add bumpdots to the backs.

I found them on Walmart's website! They are different, bright, single colors so if you have some vision, that might be helpful. \[$1\]

I found some cool rubber charms on Amazon if that helps? The ones I keep seeing are called "hermes avirgo zipper pull charms" but those seem to be for kids. Might be a good starting point to click around from though? This is a super good idea btw, good luck! Give us an update cuz I kinda wanna do this too haha. My purse has a crapload of pockets and zippers, I open the wrong one all the time too.
