As a frequent psychedelic as well as cannabis consumer I can answer this. When I take psychedelics it's nothing specially visually. Same for audibly too. It does however impact my mind like nothing else. It not just opens my mind but completely expands it. Creativity, mentally and emotionally it can unlock things that are incredibly useful. Psychedelics are a great tool if used properly. Visually it's very disappointing. Sound can be a bit distorted . Skin and texture is different even smell and taste. My mind gets the best benefit. It was actually one magic mushroom trip years ago that started me on the road to accepting my blindness and embracing my blindness. On the trip I learned so much about how connection works and how I'm not actually blind. I was blind when I could see but no longer since I am blind. It was such a profound realisation that went deep into my core.
Psychedelics are awesome!!

I really wish I could answer this, but I've never done psychedelics/hallucinogenic drugs of any sort. However, I'm reminded of a question I was asked by a sighted person:
"So, when most people drink, it's sometimes described as putting on "beer goggles." What is it like for you when you drink?"
The few times I've ever gotten drunk, which is to say, more than just tipsy or a light buzz, I really didn't see things any differently. I just kinda felt giggly and dizzy.
Otherwise, the closest thing I could come to answering the question more accurately would be the dreams I have when I have a fever, which I would describe as more akin to a semi-lucid nightmare where I think I'm awake but I'm not.
When I was ten, I got a really bad case of the flu for a week. During that time, each night I slept, I kept dreaming of the same scenario of a sort of body-snatchers thing where people I knew were being corrupted by these monsters made out of mud and garbage. I'd be aware that it couldn't be real, and I'd try to wake up, sometimes successfully, but when I'd fall asleep again, it'd be the same deal. So that wasn't fun.
That's the best I can do, OP. Sorry.
