perkins braille writer? (self.Blind)
submitted by thefunnylibrarian
I am an educator who works with other educators and am learning about ways to make learning accessible to all. One of my trainers mentioned Perkins Braille Writers and that sometimes people or companies will donate their older models or ones they have inherited. Does anyone know of contacts for such a potential donation?

Hi there, what about slate and stylus? That's far more intuitive although backward learning is required but it's cheaper and portable very easy to carry on the go,
I just carry it in my laptop bag I've got German slate🥰

Thanks. I have a stylus but am hoping to have both available. Thanks for the tip!

Your state instructional materials center will probably loan you one.

If possible, you should buy a new one. Perkins Braillers are now more ergonomic, and older models required that people press down firmly on the keys, which may be quite hard for a young student for a long period.
