Can you see lava lamps, glow in the dark stickers and fairy neon lights? (self.Blind)
submitted by SophW90
Hi!
Sorry for the question: I want to buy some decorations for the room of a blind kid but I’m not sure.
Can you see lava lamps, glow in the dark decorations and fairy neon lights?
Thank you very much

You should probably ask the kid.

Depends on what he can see. Blind doesn't always mean totally blind.

everyone's level of vision is different, so you would need to ask the kid (or their parents/teachers).

if you want some other ideas about involving textures and stuff decorating for a blind person, Mr. Kate (youtube DIY couple) did Molly Burke's Room $1

Definitely ask the kid or their parents if they can see but also if this is anything they want. I use fairy lights in place of my main light in my home because they're less bright, but it's not for everyone.

Some people only have some light perception. Others, like me, who are legally blind since birth, can see objects quite clearly, close up. Everyone is different.

Hi, was lurking around Reddit and stumbled across this. Can your vision be corrected to any degree?
blackberrybunny 1 points 3y ago
No, mine cannot. In my case, glasses do not help either. I have something called Right Angle Kappa, Retrolental Fibroplasia, Retinopathy of Prematurity, with the detachment of the vitreous gel from the retina, along with a lot of floaters in my left eye.

People ask me that all the time and it never occurred to me to get upset about it.
