Microsoft Tesms and screen-reading software(self.Blind)

Posting 1 – Microsoft Teams
Hi, I am looking to connect with anyone on this platform who uses the JAWS screen reader and a Refreshable Braille Display as their primary method for accessing and interacting with digital content. I am looking to connect with anyone who uses Braille on a daily basis to complete online transactions and other activities (e.g., banking, paying bills, shopping, etc.). In general, I am looking to see if there are any JAWS/Refreshable Braille Display users who have any experiencing using Microsoft Teams in a job setting.
I am looking to find out whether anyone has had difficulty using this program due to the vast number and severe accessibility issues within the program. Our agency began using Microsoft teams as a main communication tools among co-workers in our unit. However, due to the inaccessibility I’ve experienced when trying to use this program, I am not able to use it at all. Microsoft and the agency are deeming this program accessible and ADA compliant, but that is not the case.
Any opinions, tips, tricks, and your personal experiences with using the program are greatly appreciated.

While I see teams as not an obvious program to use with a screen reader it is fully usable in my testing and fairly well layed out. Perhaps a training session for the users would be best.

Thank you for your reply!
Are you using Braille alone to navigate Teams, with a refreshable Braille display, for a non visual user with no audio? What screen reader are you using?

I am a low vision user. I have played with teams with speech and with screen reader. Not with braille at all.

Thank you for this information. Can you tell me what screen reading software are you using? My concern is for a user who is blind from birth with no ability to visualize, who is unable to make use of auditory support - they are having difficulties finding specific threads and team channels, as well as choosing team members as well as starting and continuing new conversations and other general tasks within teams, including program orientation and navigation (program has few non visual landmarks)

I have tried with JAWS 2020 and NvDA. Teams has a lot of tutor messages. What may help is to provide a visual explanation of the app so the users can understand how they are jumping between elements.

In what way is it not accessible? My office switched to the Microsoft system about two years ago, and that included Teams. Pretty much all the blind/low vision staff were able to utilize Teams, although there was some difficulties accessing shared files (possibly because they were PDFs though).

The difficulty I believe lies in this individual is blind from birth and cannot visualize at all. In multiple circumstances tabbing and shift tabbing do not bring you to the place you came from. There appear to be little to no markers for the non visual. The audio input is also not being used as this user is 100% Braille
