I'm heading to Europe in March for a couple of months, to do research for a project I'm starting up here in New Zealand.
Long story short, I'm trying to bring better accessibility to the arts NZ, looking at various various countries in Europe as a model.
I'm looking for galleries, museums or other similar spaces that have exceptionally innovstive accessibility provisions. Or, organisations which help these spaces to become accessible, and are known to be fantastic at it.
I'm also looking for communities of artists within which blind/low vision artists can thrive as artists, not just as tokens, if that makes sense.
So, galleries with great access, organisations who teach them, and blind artists and communities of artists. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I haven't gone into much detail on purpose - one because I want to hear all suggestions that might otherwise not seem relevant, and two because I'm so damn passionate about access to the arts and about this project that I'd he sitting here typing for hours haha.
Thanks!!
