I’m a college student trying to do a interactive design project concerning how do blind people entertain themselves, thank you so much for giving me ideas. (self.Blind)

So sorry for bothering you guys! But I’m really curious about how your community entertain yourselves in your free time, and I will try to design a set of tools to help you recreate more freely and conveniently. By far I know some of you guys like to cook and do some gardening, I think that’s very healthy!

You'll probably have as many different answers to this as you do people responding. Personally, I have several hobbies/side projects.

Boardgames (really good lighting, magnifier as needed, and an understanding/supportive game group)

Tabletop RPGs (same as above, but less necessary since it's not typically as visual + husband makes me large-print character sheets)

Reading (large print via Kindle or audio book)

Hobby programming projects (I cut back on those a lot when I switched jobs, because I'm doing a lot more coding at work than I used to)

Currently co-authoring a book (Google docs, no real issues)

Used to do a Podcast (co-host did or hired out the editing - we've taken a break to write the book)

Blind people have many hobbies, mostly the same things as sighted people enjoy. There are many posts on this subreddit about hobbies, so you could look through those to get an idea of how blind people spend their time when they're not working.

Thanks greatly! I’ll look into it in this community. What’re your hobbies by the way?
