Reading Braille. Blind vs. sighted people. (self.Blind)
submitted by GigaTune
Blind people read Braille with their fingers. Sighted people who know Braille typically read it with their eyes just like they read print.

silly question: why did you post this?

So I love reading Braille (am totally blind) and I had taught my parents to read the alphabet. My mom probably still has all her Braille knowledge but I doubt if my dad does since it's been forever since he would have received anything from me in Braille. I had asked my sister and brother if they wanted to learn it, but neither of them are interested. .

So one of my friends I had not met up with her in around 3 years but she wanted to get back in contact so she sent me a Braille letter two pages in length, and the funny thing was this particular friend I had only had like two Braille lessons with, she had just googled it again and borrowed a neighbour kid's Brailler and then wrote to me with zero errors.

I am sighted and I have always wanted to read Braille with my fingers. I don't know where to start though. I can read it with my eyes really well due to my job as a braillist.
