I’d like a writing app specifically for visually impaired(self.Blind)
submitted by kelpangler
I’ve been using Notes and Pages for iOS and I’m not so happy with editing in them. Ive seen clean writing apps without all the editing options. Maybe there’s something like that for visually impaired people?
Some things I’d like to be able to do. Tap on a paragraph and hear only that one, similar to how you can read one paragraph at a time on a webpage. I’d like to be able to place my cursor at the beginning or end of a paragraph. Basically the paragraph as it’s own text field almost.

Maybe try Voice Dream Writer?

It looks promising. Thanks for the tip.

The outline mode in voice dream writer, will do most of what you ask. Formatting with mark down will help massively too

Dumb question but can you recommend any good primers on markdown?

A guide to the syntax can be found here.

It’s a great way to add structure to any document. I really like all the export options from byword, if you want to produce documents to be used on the web etc

I looked up how to use the Magic Keyboard and it’s shortcuts to edit text. They seem pretty easy to learn and I was able to write a letter after some practice. I was able to move from one paragraph to another. A little clunky but workable. So looks I might be good for now.
