Zoomtext vs Fusion? (self.Blind)
submitted by coolcaelin123
Hello,

Freedom Scientific is giving people temporary licenses of their software until the end of June. I wanted to try out Fusion, being a seasoned Zoomtext user.

I have it installed, and now I see 3 new applications on my desktop. Zoomtext 2020, Jaws, and Fusion.

When I open the fusion application, besides a few OCR things and being able to work in Google, I can't tell the differance between it and Zoomtextdifference. Is there anybody who can clarify it for me?

Thanks,

Fusion. I'm completely blind so never had to use magnifying apps, but from everything I've heard from VI folks who see more than I do fusion is where its at in that regard.

What the others have said is correct, Fusion is the fusion between zoomtext and jaws. You can still run zoomtext or jaws seperately.

If you're not using a braille device, jaws probably has less functionality for you, hence you still notice only most of your zoomtext functionality.

Following in case anyone has a better answer than me. Last I checked Fusion is supposed to be the happy medium for people somewhere between needing Zoomtext and JAWS. The main benefits being the robust speech options and the ability to use keystrokes to control things much like JAWS.
I think. At least the speech is the big difference I always thought of.

Fusion is a JAWS and ZoomText Combined package. If im not mistaken it also makes sure the keyboard shortcuts of the two do not collide.

I don’t believe there is any further difference though.
