I'm caring for a recently blind individual(self.Blind)

At my facility we aren't made to care for deaf blind people. What can she do to be entertained?

What are the activities that others are doing? More than likely we'll be able to suggest alternative ways for the individual to participate.

i’m completely blind and have also worked as a developmental services worker. The best thing in situations like this usually to ensure that people have access to the same activities as others while providing accommodations. Everyone has different preferences and interests, whether they are blind or not. Did you work with the person before they lost their site? If so, they would still have the same interests now and many things can probably be adapted

No. I work at a crisis center. I'm kinda just hanging out with her, she lacks interest in everything and is very depressed partially due to her blindness.

Something like a Google Home Mini may be helpful. It would give her access to information like time, news, music, audio books...

I'll talk to my facility about getting such a device. Good idea!

can she read braille? The deafblind people I know have remarkably fulfilling lives with braille technology.

Unfortunately she's an old lady that just went blind

For me, one of the earliest and richest things I discovered as I went blind was audiobooks. See if she has any favorites, or favorite genres.
